North Carolina Unemployment Website Crashes

How bad is the economy? So bad that in North Carolina the web servers are overwhelmed and crashed this week due to so many unemployment claims. North Carolina Unemployment set records in the number of claims applied for and paid.

The problems with North Carolina's unemployment systems and websites are likley not unique. Expect to read more about other states experiencing computer outages when they are flooded for unemployment claims and questions in 2009.
