Learned A New Term Today Malicious Compliance
Did you ever have a boss or manager who displays their incompetence by giving orders without thinking them through. Managers who engage in this behavior are setting themselves up for something called malicious compliance. If the manager is in charge of a team of disgruntled or disaffected employees, passive agressive bahavior like malicious compliance can manifest itsself. Simply put malicious compliance is when an employee carrys out their managers orders to the letter, knowing that doing so will damange the company or cause problems. This is done to cause the result to reflect poorly on the manager who gave the orders. Where an employee with good morale might normally speak up and warn the manager of the consequences. Once engaging in malicious compliance will likley get enjoyment from carrying out instructions and then watching the negative result.
